Join Us for 21 Days of Prayer & Fasting as We Begin 2026

The Abyssinian Baptist Church invites our entire church family, starting January 7, to begin the new year united in 21 days of prayer and fasting—a sacred season of seeking God with intention, humility, and expectation.

Why Prayer & Fasting?

As we prepare to step into a new year, we believe deeply in the power of prayer—and we know that prayer changes things. There is always more room to grow, to deepen our relationship with God, and to hear His voice more clearly. One of the most powerful ways to do that is through intentional fasting and prayer.
Jesus Himself modeled this discipline in Matthew 4:1–11, setting aside time to seek God, resist temptation, and walk in obedience. As we begin 2026, we are trusting God to stretch us, refine us, and enrich us—and that transformation begins with prayer and fasting.

What to Expect During the 21 Days

We have prepared a 21-day prayer and fasting plan designed to support and encourage you through a season of elevation and expansion. This journey will require sacrifice and discipline—but it will also be meaningful, life-giving, and transformative.
We believe that at the end of these 21 days, you will be:
  • Stronger in your faith
  • Clearer in your purpose
  • More deeply anchored in God

Corporate Prayer: We Walk This Journey Together

Fasting for 21 days is a real sacrifice, and sacrifice can bring discomfort. That is why we will come together for corporate prayer to support and encourage one another.
Wednesday Morning Prayer Calls (via Zoom):
  • January 7 | 6:00–6:30 AM
  • January 14 | 6:00–6:30 AM
  • January 21 | 6:00–6:30 AM

Commit to a 21-Day Prayer Journal

We strongly encourage you to journal your journey throughout these 21 days. Commit to 21 journal entries—one for each day—to document what God is doing in you and around you.

Use your journal to capture:
  • Your prayers and petitions
  • What the Holy Spirit is revealing
  • Your emotions, struggles, and victories
  • Testimonies and answered prayers

One day, when you face another challenge, you will be able to return to these pages and remember:
God did it before—and He will do it again.

You will see not only what God has done, but also your own faithfulness, obedience, and perseverance written clearly before you.
